Blushing Bride Recipe
For those of us in the catering industry, this beautiful warm weather means that wedding season is officially upon us. Many bridesmaids will be gathering together, poolside, discussing the details of the upcoming summer weddings and probably becoming quite thirsty. We have a drink for that… The Blushing Bride.
This is a hit signature drink for spring, summer and early fall weddings and easy to make.
Perfect Setting Catering is pleased to finally release one of our famous cocktail recipes: The Blushing Bride.
What You Will Need
1 part vodka
1 part Grapefruit Juice
1/2 part mint simple syrup*
1/2 part lime juice
*You can make mint simple syrup by adding equal parts sugar and water into a pot and boiling the combination on a stove top until you have a syrupy mixture. Once you have boiled out enough of the water (avoid over boiling or you will caramelize the sugar) remove the pot from the burner and add in a large sprig of mint (wash first!) and let sit for 5 minutes. Strain out mint sprig and debris.
Combine the Grapefruit juice, lime juice and vodka into a large pitcher. Add the simple syrup in as you whisk in order to thoroughly mix the syrup into the juice. Essentially you want two-thirds of the pitcher to be equal parts vodka and grapefruit juice to use as your base. The latter third should be equal parts mint simple syrup and lime juice. Taste the finish product and add syrup as desired! Serve over ice, sugary drinks are best served ice cold.
We choose to garnish the Blushing Bride cocktail with a mint leaf. Very refreshing!
